The Sheffield Fiesta

(A Personal Perspective)

Once upon a time, in the heart of Sheffield, between the Pond Street bus station and Arundel Gate, high enough to be a landmark on the Sheffield skyline, sat the Sheffield Fiesta nightclub. This was not just any nightclub. This was Europe’s largest, and many say “top” nightclub. The one where internationally renowned entertainment stars of the day would love to appear. Even Elvis Presley was once in negotiations to appear there!

As at January 2018, this website is still being constructed. What will follow (shortly) are my personal memories of when I worked at the Sheffield club between 1973 until it’s final, sad demise in 1980.

The headings you'll find on the left are provisional, and are likely to change. However, do expect to see some amusing (I hope!) tales, some photographs and even some audio recordings (woohoo!).

Who am I?

Ah! You’ll have to guess . . . .

As for now . . . Please Enter Europe's Top Nitespot . . .
